The Peregrines Pre-Preparatory and Falcons School for Girls

Peregrines Pre-Preparatory and Falcons School for Girls is part of the Falcons group of schools; it is an independent school which educates girls and boys in its new Peregrines Pre-Preparatory section. At 8+, boys will join Falcons Preparatory School for Boys in Richmond and other schools. Girls stay at Falcons School for Girls and prepare for the London day schools’ 11+ Examinations and Common Entrance for country boarding schools.

Having relocated to larger premises in Putney in September 2014, the school now provides outstanding facilities whilst retaining its family ethos. The school is  situated within a leafy conversation area, with Peregrines on one side of Woodborough Road and Falcons School for Girls on the opposite side.

The Falcons School for Girls exit results are outstanding, with girls gaining entry to schools such as Francis Holland, Godolphin & Latymer, Harrodian, Putney High School, Ibstock Place, St Paul’s Girls and Wycombe Abbey.

Sara Williams-Ryan, Headmistress

Born in Spain, Sara Williams-Ryan grew up in Switzerland where she studied History at the University of Geneva before moving to the UK, completing first a PGCE and then a Master’s Degree in Education.

She joined Peregrines Pre-Preparatory and The Falcons School for Girls in September 2018 from Emanuel School, where she was Head of Modern Foreign Languages and, for the past 13 years, on the Senior Management Team as Assistant Head Pastoral.

Sara was also a governor at Christ Church Primary School, Battersea.

She believes passionately in the close links between academic achievement and emotional wellbeing, and in schools’ essential role in preparing children for all aspects of life in our fast-changing world.

Sara is married with twin girls, now at university. She loves music and dance and in her spare time volunteers for a hospital radio.
