The Falcons School for Girls

The Falcons School for Girls is part of the Falcons group of schools; it is an independent preparatory school which educates girls from 3 – 11 years. They have a reputation for academic excellence, creativity and life-long learning and prepare girls for the London day schools’ 11+ Examinations and 11+ Common Entrance for country boarding schools.

The Falcons School for Girls began an exciting new era having relocated to larger premises in Putney in September 2014. The new location allows the school to provide outstanding facilities whilst retaining its ethos. It is made up of four separate buildings in Woodborough Road.  The four buildings are Edwardian Houses situated within a leafy conversation area.

The Falcons School for Girls exit results are outstanding with girls gaining entry to schools such as Francis Holland, Godolphin & Latymer, Harrodian, Ibstock Place, St Paul’s Girls and Wycombe Abbey.

Sara Williams-Ryan, Headmistress

Born in Spain, Sara Williams-Ryan grew up in Switzerland where she studied History at the University of Geneva before moving to the UK, completing first a PGCE and then a Master’s Degree in Education.

She joined Peregrines Pre-Preparatory and The Falcons School for Girls in September 2018 from Emanuel School, where she was Head of Modern Foreign Languages and, for the past 13 years, on the Senior Management Team as Assistant Head Pastoral.

Sara was also a governor at Christ Church Primary School, Battersea.

She believes passionately in the close links between academic achievement and emotional wellbeing, and in schools’ essential role in preparing children for all aspects of life in our fast-changing world.

Sara is married with twin girls, now at university. She loves music and dance and in her spare time volunteers for a hospital radio.
